The Youth College in Vienna recently hosted an inspiring workshop introducing the European Erasmus+ project LifeSkills 4 Youth (LS4YOU). During the session, Evelin Graf and Leonie Moritz presented the project’s digital learning platform, ready-to-use training materials, and practical methods that can be directly integrated into educational activities and coaching programmes.
Through a compact and highly practical format, trainers explored the LS4YOU platform and discovered a wide range of free resources designed to support young people’s personal and professional development. The workshop focused not only on the available tools and materials but also on identifying ways to integrate them effectively into existing educational contexts.
LS4YOU is an innovative European initiative that helps young people develop essential life skills needed for successful social and professional integration. The methodology combines digital learning, reflection, experiential activities, design thinking, and positive psychology across four key competence areas: Personality, Self-Marketing, Physical and Mental Fitness, and Financial and Material Resources.
A Strategic Added Value for the Youth College The roll-out of LS4YOU within the Youth College creates a unique opportunity for sustainable organisational impact. By training educators and integrating the methodology into daily practice, the project becomes part of the institution’s long-term educational approach rather than a stand-alone initiative. Trainers become multipliers who continuously utilise and disseminate the tools, ensuring that the project’s results remain active and relevant beyond its funding period.
The benefits extend equally to the young people participating in the programme. Skills such as selfawareness, resilience, communication, self-marketing, well-being management, and financial literacy are not only valuable during their educational journey but also highly relevant for apprenticeships, employment, and lifelong personal development. Through the LS4YOU platform, participants are empowered to make informed decisions, manage challenges, and actively shape their future careers and life paths.
This creates a powerful multiplier effect. Trainers transfer the methodology across the organisation, while young participants carry the acquired competencies into apprenticeships, workplaces, and their communities. As a result, LS4YOU contributes to a sustainable culture of life skills development, strengthening young people’s capacity to succeed in both their professional and personal lives long after they leave the Youth College.
