On 12 May, Asociación Caminos, in collaboration with Fundación TAS, hosted an information and dissemination event for the Life Skills 4 Youth project. The event, held in Brenes, near Seville, brought together professionals working with young people to learn more about the project, its results and the practical resources it offers.
Who participated?
The event was attended by a diverse group of professionals with a range of backgrounds and experiences in youth work. This included staff members from Fundación TAS, who regularly work with young people with disabilities, as well as professionals from other organisations and companies that frequently work with young people.
Participants came from teaching, education and counselling backgrounds and brought a variety of professional experiences and perspectives to the event.
What happened during the event?
During the event, participants were introduced to all the results developed through the project. The hosts presented the project guide, as well as the online platform and its activities.
The online platform was demonstrated on an interactive screen in front of the group, giving participants an opportunity to explore its content and see how it can be used in practice. Participants also received printed worksheets for the activities, allowing them to familiarise themselves with how the activities can be implemented in person.
Throughout the presentations and practical activities, participants were encouraged to ask questions and share their experiences. The discussions covered a wide range of topics, with many questions focusing on the practical implementation of the activities and how they could be adapted to different young people and youth groups.
Participants were also able to take the worksheets home with them, giving them the opportunity to explore the activities further and consider how they could be applied in their own professional contexts.
Following the presentations and practical workshop activities, participants had the opportunity to network informally. This provided further space to exchange experiences, ask additional questions and discuss issues relevant to youth work.
Conversations focused on the realities of youth work at both European and Spanish level, as well as on ways of improving professional practices and approaches to better support young people.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to present the Life Skills 4 Youth project and its resources to professionals working directly with young people, while also creating a space for exchange, discussion and reflection on how the project’s tools can be put into practice.
